Authorization Hold

Authorization hold is the practice within the banking industry of authorizing electronic transactions done with a debit card or a credit card and holding this balance as unavailable either until the merchant clears the transaction (also called settlement), or the hold "falls off." In the case of debit cards, authorization holds can fall off the account (rendering the balance available again) anywhere from 1–5 days after the transaction date depending on the bank's policy; in the case of credit cards, holds may last as long as 30 days, depending on the issuing bank, not the merchants credit card processor.

Some things you should be aware of when using your credit card or atm card at a food service facility.

Some credit card companies and banks will automatically “pre-authorize” a certain percentage of your total in anticipation of a gratuity. This will show up on the account holders online statement and is typically held for 2-5 days. Again not the merchant’s credit card processor. Please review your statement at least one week after the charge if you think you have been over charged.

Voids: When your credit card or atm is used and is voided for any reason, the credit card company or bank will show the transaction as a pending debit to your account for 2-5 days. After that time your account statement will show that no money was taken or charged. If you view your account online, please check after 1 week to see if the transaction has been processed correctly.

History

pepperoni mushroom pizza slice

After Toto's Belmont was introduced to San Mateo's south county, we soon found we needed more ovens to keep up with the demand for our authentic Neapolitan pizzas. Adding ovens to our Belmont location helped, but it still wasn't enough, so we opened a take out and delivery location in San Mateo, in the old "Media Mall".

Toto's San Mateo also helped with the ever-expanding delivery service needed between our other two locations. Offering the same high quality pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes. Located a half-mile from Highway 92 on El Camino Real, and a few short blocks from the Hillsdale Shopping Center, it offers the convenience of in-and-out service with ample parking.

History

Toto's Pizzeria San Bruno preparing pizzas for the oven

In 1972 the Toto Family decided to try a new concept for Toto's.

With a streamlined menu and offering the same famous pizza that we have become known for, and other Italian favorites, pastas, soups, and sandwiches, we opened a semi-self-serve pizzeria. This location was opened 40 years after Toto's was first introduced. Very different from our other locations in Daly City and San Francisco, with their cocktail lounge, banquet facilities and full wait staff. It has proven to be the model we use today. Its comfortable family atmosphere proves to serve many generations of Toto's loyalists. Located on El Camino Real, between San Bruno Avenue and Millbrae Avenue, just a short drive from SFO. All of our locations offer the same recipes that Toto's has used since 1932. Many of our staff is second generation, keeping the family tradition feeling you have come to know.

Today we are proud to say we are one of the oldest family-operated pizzerias in the United States. With five generations of the Spadarella family still doing what Antonio (Toto) Spadarella started so many years ago. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our locations.
